The NYC Council passed a new climate change bill that would require buildings with over 25,000 square feet to cut climate emissions by up to 40% by 2030 and to cut over 80% emissions by 2050. Currently, this is the most determined energy efficiency legislation in the US.

The new bill will force replacements of traditional power plants with renewable and energy storage resources.
