Florida passes Senate Bill 796 in order to focus on improving the power grid against storms and other natural disasters. The bill strives for better power grid resiliency through more storm hardening especially against devastating hurricanes, ultimately reducing power outages with faster power restorations. Smart Grid technologies will be implemented to improve grid reliability with much more automation, controls, and monitoring capabilities.
